Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR FAQs

What’s so special about Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR?

Our products are non-corrosive to steel, non-fuming, safe to handle while maintaining the removal effectiveness of many hazardous acids such as Hydrochloric, Muriatic, etc. You can see in our Youtube videos that the product effectively clears struvite, while not harming or damaging skin, protein, the pipe, etc.

If the Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR contain hydrochloric acid, how can it be safe on my skin and for personnel?

Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR contain hydrochloric acid along with other chemicals. The products are buffered acids because of how they are manufactured and maintaining a balance of the hydrogen ions. The Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR have the removal strengths of other hazardous acids but maintain safety benefits. You can see in our YouTube videos that hands are placed in the chemical in a 100% solution, as well as when it is working on different types of scale, however, we still recommend using safety equipment while handling the product.

If the Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR contain hydrochloric acid, should I be concerned about corrosion on stainless steel and other surfaces?

Our products have been tested and are labeled non-corrosive to steel. They are also safe on other surfaces such as on glass and plastic, allowing the products to be used in many applications and industries. If have any further questions, please request an SDS or contact us directly.

What’s the best way to apply the product, what are my options for using the product?

For maximum efficiency and effectiveness, we recommend some form or recirculation while catching and separating the solids. If this is not possible, can pump the product back and forth, anything with added movement will better agitate the scale. Otherwise, the product can also be used in standstill soaks, low-pressure sprays, or can request the foaming version of the product.

Do Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR products need to be used at a 100% or can they be diluted before use?

Struvite Remover and Scale Remover STSR are very flexible products that can be used for many different types of applications. Depending on the application and the amount of scale, the products can be diluted down to 10% solution. The amount of product in the solution will still maintain the same product to scale ratio. For example: If 20g of product dissolves 10g of scale, 10g of the product with 10g of water will dissolve 5g of scale, maintaining that same product to scale ratio.

How long will it take to dissolve the struvite or scale buildup?

The removal of scale can be as low as minutes if it’s a thin layer, but for most applications within hours or a day. This mostly depends on the scale as they can react differently, how much scale there is, the solution or amount of product used and the type of application (recirculation tends to be 5x faster). We will go over all the options with you, give you estimations on both the amount of product and time.

How can I tell when Struvite Remover or Scale Remover STSR is finished cleaning my system or dissolving/breaking up the scale?

We offer free lab testing and free samples for testing on your scale. During this testing, we track how much scale is dissolved to get an effective ratio, as well as the spent pH of the product to get a benchmark set for the application. Once the product hits its spent pH, the system will be clean or more product added to finish the job.
